Caltrop #6 / Razor Cola




Razor Cola being stripped back and polished at Resto Prep







Type: Pursuit vehicle
Faction: Citadel
Donor Vehicle: 1973Ford XB GT Hardtop
Fate: 1 unit destroyed in Namibia , 1 unit shipped to Australia now in storage

2 visually Identical vehicles were built for the film.

Base car 1: March 1975 XB GS Hardtop V8 (quite rusty - This is the surviving car as seen at the Sydney Opera house premiere)
Base car 2: 1978 XC Falcon Hardtop (already extensively modified as a drag car)
Engine car 1: worked 351 Cleveland (378 stroker). 2V heads, fairly big hydraulic cam, roller rockers - Approx 420hp.
Engine car 2: worked 351 Cleveland, 4V heads, carne F260 Solid cam, Roller rockers, stud girdle - Approx 500 hp.

Both cars were identical in specs from here down.

Blower: Bottom blower is a GM style 6/71 same as the Black Interceptor), Top blower is a GM 8v53 with custom made adapter between the blowers. Custom pulleys and snout, driven off the engine.
Trans: C4 auto, shift kitted. 3000 rpm stall convertor
Diff: F100 9", 3.9:1 gears - Mounted under factory XB leaf springs
Front suspension: Standard but fitted with heavy duty big block coil springs
Full steel nose cone, front flares and roof wing. Rear flares are fibreglass (extended version of the flares on the black Interceptor (due to the larger tyres).
Tyres: F 235/70/15" Cooper on 15x7" steel rims, R: 37x12.5x15" Dick Ceptek tyres on 15x10" sunraysia rims.
Interior: "Cobra" brand race seat for driver, ZG Fairlane passenger seat. Rolled alloy dash with aftermarket gauges. B&M shifter with correct Eaton 2-speed "ON/OFF" switch for the blower, mounted to the rear of the shifter.
