ReplyDeleteOut of curiosity, where did you get all the pictures of these, and the information that they were all sold? I tried finding better pictures but couldn't find any.
ReplyDeleteNot necessarily information to provide for the list, but more of a question on where exactly you find some of the images? Only things that I've seen that showed off a few of the vehicles was Spread Cheese Garage and IMCDB but other than that there's not much to find
ReplyDeleteVarious accounts on Facebook , screen grabs from the movie, the story about them all being sold take with a grain of salt as we were told last time most got destroyed in Africa, I'm banking a lot are in storage for the next movie, a lot of them got put up for auction at Lloyds a couple of years ago and were sold evidently
DeleteThank you for responding to me, the movie is apparently doing very well on VOD, hopefully the Wasteland can still be made! I certainly hope the cars are not going to Ukraine, doesn't seem like a great idea for a number of reasons.
DeleteWe chat to as many crew as possible, so many of them would love to show off their work but their hands are tied by NDAs. Wish George and Colin would just let us have the vehicles department master document so that we can flesh out this site and the Mad Max wiki :)
ReplyDeleteAs for the sale, a voice from out of the wasteland told me that the majority of the Furiosa vehicles were sold to a Ukrainian magnate for $50m. He apparently wants to make a MM theme park 🤣
ReplyDeleteI think he's been visiting the Furphy water cart, last I heard George Miller was making a theme park on some Greek island lol
DeleteWould be awesome to see these roll over some Russian trench in Donbass TBH
some of the Fury Road bikes also make brief appearances in some of the Biker Horde and Citadel scenes, only ones i could spot was Rib Cage, Skeletor and Jerry Can
ReplyDeleteGeneral fan here, can't profess to say I know my cars all that well, but I noticed Cal previously mentioned a 1947 Mercury Eight Buggy that's not currently on the list, I think this one pops up in the Bullet Farm chase sequence; it flips itself while trying to dodge the onrushing War Rig. The back profile seems like it might be a match but I can't find any high-quality images of it, and a clip it does appear in doesn't give the best look even in 1080p. Hope this helps.
ReplyDeleteyep I'll add it hopefully so decent pics turn up
DeleteYep that's the 40s Mercury :)
Deletethere's a few good images of the Octoboss Bike thanks to his stunt actor Chris Matheson on instagram
ReplyDeleteCheers , I'm starting to add the bikes but I know less about the details lol , can spot the jap bikes easy enough and the harleys , BMW 'S
DeleteIf any KMM staff read this page, please let George / Doug / Colin know the fans are incredibly eager for a comprehensive list of the vehicles! We know the vehicle dept did a PDF listing all of them, who drives what, which action beats they're involved in -- that's the current holy grail for this page and the other superfans. If the good doctor would approve sending us a copy it'd save us years of begging and hoping 😉
ReplyDeletekinda curious about the Oldsmobile Super 88 we see briefly before the 40 day wasteland war in the group of vehicles behind the Peacemaker, not sure if it's the original Old Bile Polecar or if it's the new stunt double used for the War Rig escort
ReplyDeleteyeah I keep forgetting to add a pic of that , I reckon its the Old Bile car with CGI effects to change the look slightly , that whole scene is a CGI fuckfest with clones of a couple cars in the same shot
Deletethat's a bit of a shame that some of them are CGI clones, i thought i saw something that looked very close to another Cranky Frank and the Holden FJ Utility in the background as likely CGI, but i suppose not much could've been done with the much smaller budget
DeleteAnd yeah I know the one you mean. Shem of the Mad Max Bible channel and I were chatting about that one and we reckon it looks like Old Bile with an animal skin in place of the hood.
DeleteTo be fair there were a few CGI clones in Fury Road as well, notably a clone of the Monaro but with the front end of one of the polecars.
ReplyDeletesome other new vehicles i picked up while rewatching through the scenes, a Rat Rod that rides behind the Cranky Black and also appears in the vehicle group heading to the 40 day wasteland war, and what appears to be a white vehicle in Bullet Farm during the trade, sadly it's too hard to tell what it is
ReplyDeleteYeh we got the rat rod just trying to work out what it is
DeleteThe only one I spotted in the Bullet Farm trade was the Sabretooth clawcar from Fury Road, it was white-ish from memory
Deletemaybe it is the Ford clawcar and i'm just confusing it for a new vehicle
Deleteanother thing i am curious about, during the intro of the second chapter, there looks like a convertible present in the dementus speech, i'm not sure if this is a new vehicle or just a continuity error since the Ford Ranchero replaces it in some scenes
ReplyDeleteIn that scene the fleeing vehicles are the tow truck , el camino,vw, kombi and the ranchero ute as far as I can see
Deletefound a new possible vehicle although i'm not certain if it is, around the 7:16 mark in the Metal Beasts & Holy Motors video there's what looks like a rusty pickup truck alongside the War Rig tanker, sadly we don't get much of a good view of it besides the rear and the front
ReplyDeleteIf it's the one I'm thinking of, it might be the rusty Chevy ute which was meant to be extended and turned into a "Chevy limo" -- they ended up using a CG version of the limo in the Wasteland War armada driveby shot, but they never made a physical build, so the ute was put in the post-war battlefield scene as a wreck instead. It's right behind Furiosa's car as she pulls up near Scrotus and Rictus.
Deletesome more stuff i've managed to spot
ReplyDelete* Mr. Harley's bike seems to potentially be a Harley-Davidson FXSTB
* Mr. Davidson's seems to be a 1942 Harley-Davidson WLA Liberator
* There is two BMW R18 during the Five Bike Teddy scene, which I'm wondering if they were later used for the R18 seen on the Chariot
* A vehicle is visible behind the Dodge Victory Six during the History Man's speech before the montage, and is later parked near Chumbucket's vehicle when Furiosa gets to the Cranky Black, which vaguely looks like a Ford Mainline
Oh haha I didn't see this comment earlier. Yeah I think the one you're describing is the Chevy Ute I was talking about. Dane Hallett has concept art of it on his Instagram.
