Furiosa Vehicles Update Part 3 - Kurnell and Inner West sets

Part 3 of collating and analysis of the publicly available images of Furiosa vehicles found on the web - click pics to enlarge

All eyes are trained on the set in the sand dunes of Kurnell, Sydney not far from where some scenes in Beyond Thunderdome were filmed and we get a first look at the tanker part of the War Rig, it's shiny and chrome and comprises 2 tanker trailers !

Within a few days another bombshell .... the Interceptor ! ??
Some thought it may have been a prank to confuse fans and the media, but there it was make of it as you will .........

Next we get to see some of the bikes there's a mixture of everything including Harleys and modern Japanese bikes

There's a lot going on in this pic when you zoom in, where you can see the blue tarpaulin that bike has 4 AK47'S mounted on the front of it and what appears to be an outboard motor leg hanging off the back, leaned up against it is what could be a propeller guard off an ultra light aircraft engine
Next to that bike in the pic is what looks like a tracked snow bike

Below is what I think the prop guard is from and a tracked snow bike

This photo shows the Organic Mechanic's Harley Trike, it looks like a mobile operating theatre, the back looks like it fold down to make a bench, that saw is definitely not medical issue !

A small glimpse of a familiar shape its gotta be the Nux Chevy

This caged vehicle looks like it's some sort of prisoner transport

It looks like it is towed by some sort of twin chariot type bike similar to the ones used at a NSW Police Carnival in 1936

1936 NSW Police chariot racing

The local Sydney news flew over the site and captured some awesome footage of what looks like a refuelling run to Gastown

This War Rig is massive and it looks like it has some kind of spinning weapon on its rear tank and there are 2 off roaders in the top right of the pic

Now we go to another Gas Town filming location and we get a good look at the huge monster wrecker truck that belongs to Dementus who is played by Chris Hemsworth

It's a big 6 wheeled Mack monster truck and has awesome metal detail on its body work

Then out of the blue a confirmed sighting of the Doof Wagon on the set at Kurnell

ok I'm done

That's all for now unless we get anymore goodies between now and March next year
I will make a page listing all the new vehicles spotted to date soon
See ya on the highway scags !

Furiosa Vehicles Update 2 - Broken Hill to the City

Round 2 of collating Furiosa vehicle sightings from the 4 corners of the web , click to enlarge all pics

Seen on the set near Broken Hill are 2 vehicles from Fury Road, the Buick and F-100 Claw car, these vehicles were known survivors and appeared the the Opera House preview in 2015

Next sighting was this wrecker truck and the small tanker truck , the tanker has the Immortan Joe logo on it so we can assume its a Citadel vehicle

Another shot of the wrecker truck with a rat rod type companion

This vehicle convoy was spotted in Western NSW there is a small off roader followed by what looks like one of those off road racer trucks, the last vehicle is curious looking and appears to be articulated...

A later photo basically confirms what fans suspected there is the familiar shape of a Kombi bus in there

So we expect to see a ratted version of something like this some sort of transport vehicle perhaps

Another sighting of 2 off roader rat cars mid last year

Now we see the first sighting of the new War Rig under transport, the thing is a beast and has 2 articulated arms one with an excavator bucket and the other has a log grabber

With filming at Hay and Broken Hill wrapped up it's time to look towards the huge sets being built in Sydney
First photos that came in showed a huge gateway which fans think is the Bullet Farm
We see bikes and they look like Rock Riders

And War Boys !

One of the first vehicles spotted is a large American sedan with a rooftop weapon parked at the gate

Looks like I have enough for another post with some awesome revelations

The wheels are turning in 2021 !

Hot on the tail of news filming will begin on the new instalment of the Mad Max story Furiosa in NSW  Australia we see the first movment of vehicles
Several weeks ago we saw the movement of vehicles from Fury Road from storage in western NSW, including the Gigahorse

A fan on Redditt has posted a photo of a stripped down Tyre Medic at a workshop in western Sydney recently, this vehicle was though to have been destroyed in Namibia at the end of filming but it is a part of a few unknown cars that returned it seems

So a few vehicles from Fury Road will appear in Furious including the War Rig and a lot more new ones will be made including hoardes of bikes !
Stay tuned to witness any new discoveries

More Pre Production shots from John Platt

How did we miss this !
Pre production photos taken by photographer John Platt in 2010 showing the Fury Road cars in early stages of development pre Fury Road shooting in Namibia.

Buggy #5 The Boneyard Mongrel
Buggy #11 Lysdexia

Prior to the start of shooting 'Mad Max Fury Road' in Namibia, South West Africa I was commissioned to shoot these vehicles. Seventy five vehicles in three weeks. Trucks, cars and bikes including the incredible details that made each of them a work of art.

More Survivors !

Recent photos show 2 surviving vehicles at Afrikaburn 2016 , these vehicles were given to a Fury Road crew member at the end of shooting in Africa.
The former Polecar #4 Dodge Fargo has been modified to carry passengers with the addition of a western wagon style rear tray , the cabin has been removed and roll cage added.

Also pictured is a Vuvalini bike ( Royal Enfield ) which has also undergone some cosmetic modifications

The remaining Bigfoot vehicle not destroyed in filming also seems to have returns to its former life according the the Mad Max movies forum , you can see it here in this video

Buzzard 5 returns !

Spotted just days ago in the suburbs of Sydney , Australia , the Hillman Buzzard on the back of a trailer sits parked on the side of the road.
This car spent the movie parked on the back of the Citadels car carrier and returned to Australia as part of the car carrier trailers' contents and is now in private hands.
* UPDATE 2019 this car was sold and now resides in America and is believed to be running

Where are they now ?

Vehicles in storage soon after the Sydney Showcase event 2015
After filming in Namibia , South Africa vehicles that were required for filming the Citadel and end chase scenes were shipped back to Sydney Australia.
The remaining vehicles were destroyed by crushing in Cape Town to avoid incurring a government import / export tax
When filming was about to take place in 2003 cars were shipped to Namibia but never used , some of those vehicles were sold to members of the public and an accident occurred and a man died.
Filmakers were determined not to let this happen again as the cars were never meant to be " roadworthy " for daily use , so all unusable vehicles were destined for the crusher , despite crew members trying to save a couple
A sad fate for some true works of art.

Oh what a day ...
The vehicles shipped back to Sydney were used to complete the filming of the movie and were showcased at an event at the Sydney Opera House forecourt on the day of the movie premiere where the public had a chance to get up close and personal with them.
There was talk of a travelling Mad Max stunt show involving these remaining vehicles but until that happens they are all stored away somewhere in the back blocks of Sydney , Australia.

Surviving cars are in storage in Australia:
*2 x War Rigs
*2 x Gigahorse
*Doof Wagon
